Social and Cultural Contribution

The Limassol Cooperative Savings Bank supports financially the various Limassol district municipalities to organize their events, as well as the cultural clubs are being granted various subsidies. 
 
The Rialto Theatre  stands for the pinnacle cultural offer to the Limassolian public. It was established in 1998 as an independent legal entity and it was registered as a charity foundation. It is run by a six-member board and it has by now contributed considerably in our town’s cultural life.
It supports financially the Limassol Municipality in events-organizing, being an established fact for our town. The Limassol Cooperative Savings Bank has a strong presence in the Limassol  Municipality, from adopting a leopard in the Limassol Municipal Zoo to financing the Limassol carnival.

The Limassol Cooperative Savings Bank supports financially the child choir of the “Epilogi” Cultural Movement which is named after “Epilogi” Child Choir of the Limassol Cooperative Savings Bank.

The Limassol Cooperative Savings Bank’s Cultural Centre is situated at 97 Gladstonos Street, next to the Organisation’s headquarters. It has been hosting for 12 years various events such as art and photography exhibitions, seminars and non-profit-making lectures, providing, therefore, many of our fellow citizens with a cultural hub.

All the parents’ associations of the Limassol post-elementary, primary and secondary schools, are given subsidies in the context of the education supporting scheme. A number of indigent pupils at schools benefit therefore from such grants.

The Limassol Cooperative Savings Bank offered assistance to the Cyprus University of Technology at the very beginning, providing it with adequately arranged offices in the city centre; it has also temporarily provided its Cultural Centre, in order to meet the needs for classrooms for the academic year 2007-2008.

Blood donations are held twice a year at the Limassol Cooperative Savings Bank’s headquarters. Both employees and customers participate each time in these altruistic donations.
Moreover, the Organisation supports financially the Limassol General Hospital Pediatric Ward, by means of a yearly-given subsidy.

Cleanliness campaigns as well as tree-planting in areas that have been burnt or devastated are launched regularly.

“Ecological” loans with favorable terms to buy renewable sources of energy, such as photovoltaics, small-sized wind parks, environmentally-friendly cars, heat-insulating materials or systems etc. are furthermore granted by the Organisation. 

Α mock-up park with cacti and succulent plants which are environment and climate-friendly plants fitting our island’s climatic conditions, without aggravating further our water problem, has also been created in the greenery area of our Organisation’s headquarters.

The Limassol Cooperative Savings Bank is permanently a sponsor of all charity Foundations and Associations of the town.

It has introduced the baptism and adoptions project regarding children from Zimbabwe by collaborating with the Zimbabwe Holy Diocese and the Patriarchate of Alexandria and all Africa. The Limassol Cooperative Savings Bank’s members, employees and friends have since May 2007 adopted more than 850 children.

Apart from the grant given to the Theotokos Foundation, the Limassol Cooperative Savings Bank has developed a different collaboration pattern, comprising the exhibition and selling of craftwork made by the children of the Theotokos Art Workshop.  

The Limassol Cooperative Savings Bank backs sports actively, by supporting various Limassolian Teams and Academies, contributing therefore in promoting sport spirit and fair competition.
